BEN MULWA THE NEW FACE OF KENYA OR A FARCE

The entry of Ben Mulwa into Kenyan politics has not only raised eyebrows to few but also rekindled the question of, just how ready is Kenya for new players?   Can Kenya brace up for new leadership? Are we ready to embrace one unknown character into the political game? Can the media give attention to this young man with passion to serve Kenya?       I knew Ben through the social network, Facebook to be precise; He struck me as that young energetic Kenyan who was more than willing to go an extra mile for Kenya. His posts mostly inundate that passionate patriotic undying lover of this country. At first I was apprehensive of him because of his more than radical view of things. He struck me as an overnight dreamer, you know, that kind of guy who after four or seven years of university, comes out with energy and zeal possessing that aura of a Mr. Know It All.   Those people who are bookish about everything, in other words, he looked to me as an individual who takes a book to wo

TREE-PLANTING SEASON

The other day, President Mwai Kibaki launched the national tree planting season. What amazed me was that, the launch was swerved away as you would swerve those bitter Flagyl drugs into your mouth and quickly drain them with water. The Musalia excitement filled the air and engulfed everyone’s mind.        That raises the question, just what is important to Kenyans? What ticks, or flows in the veins of Kenyans? Politics! The clouds have been generous with rains. The entire country is contemplating on what to do next. The rains have been barricading the roads, denting the economy and causing wanton destruction. The experience has not opened our eyes to the fact that we need more trees. We would rather cry foul of the inefficiency of Kenya power in supplying power, frequent blackouts, high power bills, traffic jams et al. The root to all these problems is, the barrenness of the land. The ground has lost weight and so there is need to re-establish that by planting trees.

MUSALIA COULD BE ‘A NEW CATCH’ FOR KENYAS WHO IS WHO

Kenya is a country economically but an individual politically. It is very open and candid that Kenya only unites in the annals of commerce where products are exchanged at the altar of friendship and mutualism. Turn around and bury yourself into politics the country rapidly changes into a house in disarray. The worms of hate float on the surface and the ugly side of politics start slowly metamorphosing out of that cocoon of lies that it has forever lain. The stem of most political parties in Kenya has always been tribe. KADU was formed to represent minority tribes while KANU was representing the majority tribes. As Musalia steps into the political arena it will be interesting to see how the events will unfold. It will be quite impressive to watch how events of the coming months will reveal the audacity of Mudavadi. Let me    emphatically hit on the impeding issue, was Mudavadi bought or did he just make that, ULTIMATE CHOICE? Did   he just wake up to a realization that his teen
