Down the memory lane Kenya blinks the tears of frustration in August. This year was an exception when with a sigh the Ghosts did not stir in the graves during the gloomy August when the cold brazes Nairobians. Now that we have shoved the ill fated month out the window, September set in in a style to the chagrin of many kenyans.
It all stated when in Sinai, a Biblical Holy mountain, was razed and drowned in the river of fire. The Sinai hear is not in the middle East but rather a slum in Nairobi. One wonders, If Sinai is to turn out to be a place where fire falls like rain the Sodom could be a mountain of hope and law! Hundreds lost their lives and property was destroyed while thousands were left homeless.
If you think Kenya learned from the disaster then you are dead wrong! It is just another home for political gymnastics and barbaric chant by our politicians in the hope of gaining polls.
Before the country could recover from the blaze, another disaster hit. Now this one was from a different kind of petrol. not petrol flowing freely on water but this one; a petrol that ignites souls of men, makes them inebriated and in high spirits, killed several people. the petrol was branded Yokozuna, and true to its name it did what YOKOZUNA did in the ring.
Remember there are Mututho laws!
Just as the country was planning on how deal with these two disasters, you guessed right, a building collapsed in Vihiga county, Western Kenya. The list just continue to build on.
I would be a fool not to mention the ever increasing numbers in Road Carnage. a couple of days ago 11 people lost their lives on Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Others also succumbed to the same fate, 13 lives all gone to waste!
All this disasters happened because of our ignorance and negligence. Our over reliance on the Government to help us has also helped to spur the sky high disasters! Kenyans need to owner up to their responsibilities!
