HATRED SPEWED

It is such a love when those in authority grapple with hate messages that have taken route on social media and text message platform. Mobile telephone companies are boasting of suppressing hundreds of thousands of messages labeled as hate messages every passing day. I guess that is just as good as it is.  The government is breathing fire on hate mongers and in fact 15 bloggers have been questioned on the same. When hate speech is mentioned on social platforms, Robert Alai’s name comes out loud and clear. He embellishes hate messages like a river of doom. The other day he was just released on cash bail. What mechanism is used to quantify a hate message from normal conversation? Hate message as they say, is a message that inflames and motivates the public into violence. If my definition of hate speech is what I deem as what it is, then we are frying the wrong fish.  Hate speech circumvent s not only speeches and text messages or blogs/face book updates/tweets but...

THENCE THE TRIBE

Every performer goes to an audience that applauds him the most, so the saying goes. The events of the recent past events have more than revealed what corners we attribute to the most. The 2013 elections just exposed the lack of elitist view of all and sundry. It exposed the very true and ugly face of tribal monstrosity in Kenya’s elites who quickly took to the social media to expose their tribal marks in jubilation that they had voted. Voted my foot! There was no exercise of the democratic rights when it was clear where the vote was inclined. The large voter turnout, the long queues and the break in IEBC devices was just a stamp to what we clear embody in our silly minds-the tribe. Kenyans should be ashamed of themselves! Righteously speak, nobody is virtuous on the pedestal of tribe. Our actions signify our embodiments and our true blood in the vein. It surpasses our intelligence and sense of reasons. It breaks the bonds of civilization we cling to and traverses the peace that ...

WHAT WE SEE IN THE IN THE MEDIA ARE DESPERATE CALLS FOR PEACE

There is nothing so paining to be boggled down with the wringing hands and desperate frustrated voices calling out for peace. Ears wringing with paining resignation, what comes quickly to someone’s mind is to throw caution to the wind and bang the hell out of those breathing peace. Indeed PEACE IS WANTED ALIVE, but the noise that calls for this inanimate feature is so intense that I have a feeling that before long, we shall have total disarray. Elections are emotional in Kenya and the atmosphere that surrounds them is so intense that what we need is calm after a storm. Therefore whatever is needed at this point in time is not the appeal for peace but, the calmness that follow a major heartbreak. We need not to implant sense where emotions ride high. At this point in time SILENCE IS WANTED ALIVE. Appeal therefore goes out to those talking inherently about peace to JUST SHUT UP! To shut I reckon will not just re-instate the country into the pedestal it once was but also bring...

HALLO FRIENDS!!!

Been out of touch for so long...... My absence has seen Kenya concieve a new president. Before the president could be sworn in, there has been a Post Election Silence; which many consider as Peace. My awayness has also seen me through the swamp of desperation as Kenyan artist desperately call for peace, the ominous PES(POST-ELECTION SILENCE) is not just want no one needs. That is why our noble artists and men of influence are wringing hands in desperation. OOH! HABEMUS PAPAM!! WE HAVE A NEW POPE!! At the Vatican, there was no vote rigging or the breakdown of BVR kits! the pope was born whole. And the case in court? Its anyone's guess! Meanwhile let us break the silence with some song. I am back like a bore....

THE COUNTY OF SHAME: VIHIGA COUNTY (Part two)

Vihiga County is probably home to the laziest and empty headed individuals who have lost sense of vision and foresight. It houses petty hecklers and rampant gossipers who spend better days gossiping and talking and not doing anything constructive. The county houses perfectionist by lip-service and professionals by that hearty rebuke and counter remark. In short, Vihiga is home to the contractors of castles in the air. Out of the 180,112 pupils who join primary school, only 36, 413 get to high school. That’s only 20% of the total primary enrolment! Finally, 12.7% get to finish their secondary education. That is totally incredulous! It shows a total ramshackle in the literary world, it clearly inundates a society that has totally forgotten all about the fundamentals of education and above all does not appreciate the education system at all! A county that has more teachers than any other specialist espouses a county that drinks water and serves wine. What is the essence of produci...

GIVE a KENYAN THE REASON TO REGISTER AS A VOTER

The common Mwanainchi has a mountain of questions to ask about the ongoing voter registration exercise. He/She wonders why in the first place he should register. One Kenyan lamented that He has so many voters cards under his name and yet, he is being called for fresh registration. Does the govt have so much money to plunge into voter registration yet we have so many of us languishing in abject poverty? He posed. I looked at him sadly because I understood. His tattered clothes spoke thousands of tears in famine. We had fresh registration exercise a year ago, for the referendum. our voters cards are still fresh and not tattered, what is there new that we need to get? another asked. I do not usually have answers to such questions myself. AS I call upon Kenyans to register, I seek answers to the above questions. Seriously speaking, the apathy shown towards the current voter registration comes from the growing knowledge on democracy  and its oppression in kenya. It is the understan...
